I’m Brittney Sheffield
Yes, “Sheffield” like on The Nanny, the town in England, and Gary. I was born on July 30, 1983 and raised in Oklahoma. I took the first opportunity I had- college- to get out of Oklahoma. I moved 2 1/2 hours to Springfield, Missouri. Hey, it wasn’t Oklahoma. I spent four years in Springfield attending Southwest Missouri State University, and graduated in May of 2005. In August 2005, they changed the name to Missouri State University. I spent a lot of money to go to a school that no longer exists.
After Missouri, I packed everything I could into my car (it wasn’t a lot- I drive a Mustang) and headed to Los Angeles. Hollywood. The City of Angels. I spent a year of my life trying to book flights during hurricanes, seeing Emmy Award winners in boxers, going to a certain actress’s apartment to pick up “tapes that appeared to be blank,” and dealing with some of the biggest egos I have ever encountered. I wouldn’t change it for a second.
After a year in LA, I dashed a little further. I spent two years working for a world-reknown cruise line. I spent those two years working hard and playing harder. I probably had more fun by the time I turned 25 than most people do there whole life. I’ve been to 50+ countries and all seven continents. But along with the fun came drama, and now I’m back in the States, trying to decide what is next in my life.
I love to dance. I did so for almost 20 years. Everytime I watch So You Think You Can Dance I want to do it again. I’m comfortable being outside my comfort zone. If I could make enough money to live on by moving around and working at random events, I would do it in a second. I love big cities, Mia Michaels choreography, driving on highways and the Raiders. My thoughts always sound better in my head than they do in words or on paper. I will compete at anything- poker, knowledge, board games, standing on one leg- I’ll do it. I don’t think winning is important, but I think wanting to win is.
I hate text messages, the cold, all Boston sports, and incorrect grammar.
